Nine Goals in the Hydroplus Soccer League: Yuki Kanaya Sets Her Sights on Arema FC Women U-15

Surabaya (beritajatim.com) - The Tigers Football Academy U-15 girls from Surabaya keep showing the consistency of a serious challenger at the top of the Hydroplus Soccer League U-15 table. Their latest result was a narrow 2-1 win over Srikandi Mojopahit at Bogowonto Field, Surabaya, on Saturday 17 January 2026. Aimarch Yuki Kanaya and Yumina Naziya Fina scored the Tigers' goals, while Srikandi Mojopahit could only pull one back through Azkadelia Queencira Vadelita. The win cements the Tigers as the main rival to Arema FC Women U-15. One player who caught the eye again was Tigers midfielder Aimarch Yuki Kanaya.

The 14-year-old has now scored nine goals this season and is the engine of the West Surabaya side. After the match, Kanaya said she still has a personal target to chase before the season ends. “My target is to score more goals than Kesya,” she said on Saturday 17 January 2026.

Although some way behind in the provisional top-scorer list, Kanaya remains optimistic she can compete. She believes improving as an individual is the key to reaching that target. “I have to play calmer, control my emotions, and train my left foot so my shooting is better,” she said. Beyond her own performance, Kanaya also highlighted the importance of team cohesion, hoping the Tigers can be even more solid in the matches to come.

“There's still work to do, especially communication within the team,” said the player, whose idol is German midfielder Toni Kroos. Tigers Football Academy coach Sutikno praised his players' hard work while stressing that evaluation remains the priority. “We appreciate the girls' hard work today. But there's still plenty of homework, from communication and the distance between the lines to losing the ball,” Sutikno explained.

The three points keep the Tigers on the heels of Arema FC Women in the provisional U-15 standings. The Tigers sit second with six wins, one draw and one defeat from eight matches, five points off the top. In the other U-15 girls' fixtures, LH Bulog Jatim Putri were commanding in an 8-1 win over Persida Putri Sidoarjo, Putri Meta dominated Star Generation Putri 12-0, and Arema FC Women showed their attacking edge again with a striking 15-0 win over Persegres Putri.
