About Blue Gum Bushwalkers

Walking together since a handful of friends first met at Wentworth Falls.

Our Story

Our Story

It started with six friends, one car and the National Pass. Word got around, the car became a convoy, and by the second year there were forty of us on the programme.

Today Blue Gum Bushwalkers walks every weekend, runs a pack walk most months and looks after the tracks we love. Some members are training for big trips, some come for the views and the morning tea, and most come for both.

Our Grading System

Every walk on the programme has a grade, so you can pick the ones that suit you. If you are new to the club, start one grade lower than you think, and talk to the walk leader if you are unsure.

  • Grade 1, easy: under 8 km on good tracks, little climbing.
  • Grade 2, moderate: up to 12 km, some hills and steps.
  • Grade 3, medium to hard: 12 to 18 km, steep climbs, rough sections.
  • Grade 4, hard: long days, rock scrambles, sometimes off track.

Before You Walk

What to Bring

  • Two litres of water

Safety on Every Walk
