How to delete your data

Last updated 27 July 2026

This page tells you how to have your data deleted, and what happens when you ask. It is deliberately practical - our privacy notice explains what we hold and why, while this one is just the steps.

Anggota is operated by CV San Siro Media Denpasar of Jalan Sedap Malam No 111A, Kesiman, Bali 80237, Indonesia. Every request described here goes to [email protected] and we answer all of them.

First, which are you?

As with everything else about your data here, the answer depends on whether you run an organisation on Anggota or belong to one. It is worth thirty seconds to work out which, because it changes who can actually press the button.

If you are a member of a club or association

Your record belongs to the organisation you joined, not to us. They decided what to keep about you; we hold it on their instructions. That means they can delete it themselves, immediately, and we cannot do it without them asking - not out of unhelpfulness, but because it is their record and going behind them would be the wrong thing to do.

So the fastest route is always the same:

  1. Ask the organisation directly. Their administrator can delete your record from inside Anggota in a couple of minutes. Most people find this is done the same day.
  2. If you cannot reach them, or they will not act, write to us at [email protected]. Tell us the organisation's name and the email address or phone number they hold for you. We will contact them on your behalf, help them carry it out, and stay with it until it is resolved.

You do not need an account with us to ask, and you do not need to explain why.

If you run an organisation on Anggota

Your account details are ours to delete, so you can ask us directly.

  1. Write to [email protected] from the email address on the account, and say whether you want your own administrator details removed or the whole organisation and everything in it.
  2. Take an export first if you want one. Once it is gone we cannot bring it back, so we will always offer you an export before we act, and we will wait for your answer.
  3. We confirm when it is done, and tell you plainly about anything we are legally obliged to keep.

Deleting an organisation removes its member records, event registrations, custom fields and uploaded files. Please tell your members first - they may want their own copies, and you are the one holding the relationship with them.

WhatsApp and other messaging

Where an organisation uses Anggota to send you WhatsApp messages - a renewal reminder, an event reminder, a sign-in link - we hold three things connected to Meta's platform on their behalf: the phone number the organisation gave us, a record that you agreed to be messaged and when, and a log of what was sent and whether it arrived.

You have two separate choices here, and they are not the same thing:

  • To stop receiving messages but keep your membership - tell the organisation, or write to us at [email protected]. We withdraw your consent, and the organisation's reminders go back to reaching you by email. Nothing about your membership changes.
  • To have the messaging data itself deleted - write to us and say so. We remove the phone number from the messaging record, the consent record and the delivery log.

We do not use anything obtained through Meta's platform for our own purposes, we never sell it, and we do not use it to advertise to you.

How long it takes

We act on every request within 30 days, and in practice almost always within a few days. Where Indonesian law requires us to move faster than that, we do. If a request is going to take longer for a reason we can explain, we will tell you why rather than leave you waiting.

What we may have to keep

A small amount of data survives deletion, and only where the law leaves us no choice. Financial and tax records are kept for the period Indonesian accounting rules require. Where we need to remember that a deletion request was made, we keep the bare minimum to prove we honoured it. Backups roll over on a limited cycle and are overwritten rather than picked through, so something deleted today may briefly persist in a backup before that cycle completes - it is not restored to the live service and it is not used for anything.

Everything else goes.

If you are not satisfied

Write to us first and give us a chance to put it right - most problems here are a misunderstanding about who holds what. If that does not resolve it, you have the right to complain to the relevant Indonesian authority under Law No. 27 of 2022 on Personal Data Protection.
