Guides and answers for running your organisation on Anggota.
Coming soon
This feature is built and being finalised - it is not switched on for organisations yet. The page is here so you can see what is coming and plan for it. We will let you know when it goes live.
In Indonesia, email gets read when people remember to look. WhatsApp gets read the same day. So Anggota can send your renewal reminders, event reminders and sign-in links over WhatsApp as well as email - to the phone numbers you already hold for your members.
Unlike email, WhatsApp messages are not free. Meta charges for each one, and Anggota passes that on through a prepaid balance called Saldo Anggota.
Your plan already includes a monthly allowance of Saldo - roughly one WhatsApp message per member per year, whatever size your organisation is. Most clubs find that covers a single renewal nudge for everyone. If you want more than that, you top up.
Nothing ever stops. If your Saldo runs out, reminders keep going - they simply go by email, exactly as they do today. WhatsApp is an upgrade on email, never a replacement for it. Nobody misses their renewal notice because a balance hit zero.
Open More → Emails & messages. Beside your email templates you will find the Member channel panel, which holds the WhatsApp choices.

Use WhatsApp for membership renewals? On by default. This is the one worth having: a renewal reminder that actually gets read is the cheapest way to keep a member. It is also the least expensive kind of message to send.
Use WhatsApp for member login? Off by default. Sends the sign-in link by WhatsApp instead of email. Convenient, but Meta charges a different and higher rate for sign-in codes, so it uses up Saldo faster than anything else.
Use WhatsApp for event reminders? Off by default. Reminds people who have already registered for an event. Useful for anything where turning up matters.
Each is independent. Turning one on does not turn on the others, and you can change your mind at any time.
Anggota will only message someone who has agreed to be contacted on WhatsApp. This is not us being cautious - Meta requires recorded consent, and a member who is messaged without it can report the number, which affects every organisation using Anggota.
In practice this means consent is collected as members join or update their details, and it builds up over time. A member who has not agreed simply keeps getting emails as usual.
Anyone can stop at any time by replying STOP (or BERHENTI) to a message. That takes effect immediately and applies everywhere - they will not have to ask twice.
Messages arrive from Anggota's WhatsApp number, and each one names your organisation clearly so the member knows who is writing. They read like a short note, not a marketing blast.
Do I need my own WhatsApp Business account? No. Anggota handles the connection to Meta. You do not need to set anything up, verify a number, or manage templates.
Can I write the WhatsApp messages myself? Not at first. Meta requires message templates to be approved before they can be sent, so the wording is fixed initially. Your email templates remain fully editable as they are now.
Will members get the same thing twice, by email and WhatsApp? No. Where WhatsApp is switched on and the member has agreed, the message goes by WhatsApp instead of email. It falls back to email when it cannot.
What if a member has no phone number, or a number we cannot read? They get the email, exactly as today. Nothing breaks and nothing is lost.
Does this work outside Indonesia? Yes. Any member with a valid international number can be reached.
Still stuck? Reach your Anggota contact and we will walk you through it.
